Jack Black Saves Some Boobs

I came across this HILARIOUS video by accident today, and I thought you would enjoy a good laugh!

Consider the lilies...

Thank you so much for inviting me to join in contributing to a great cause!  My aunt is a survivor of many years now.  She had breast cancer twice, and the cancer spread to almost every other part of her body.  She had four little girls at the time, and it was very scary.

I remember when she lost her hair and started wearing a wig.  She had such a sense of humor about the whole thing that she would yank that wig off all of a sudden and make us laugh!  But she didn't stop there...as I got older, she would yank her shirt up out of nowhere and show me where her breasts used to be before her mastectomy, reminding me to always do my monthly exam.  Whoa!  Funny lady. :)

Anyway, on to what I am going to stitch for the auction.  The small "Fear Not" chart by La D Da came to my mind instantly.  I will post a photo of it when it comes in the mail, but it is three pink lilies and two bluebirds in a garden, and the verse is, "Fear not.  Consider the lilies and how they grow."

It's one of my favorite verses of scripture.  For God to remind us to be at peace, that He is aware of the sparrows and the lilies and, of course, aware of us and our trials and difficulties.  I thought this piece would be perfectly fitting for the cause at hand.  I can't wait to get started!

Thank you

Thank you for inviting me to join! I am so excited. If you read my blog, you know that my mom has been battling Breast Cancer for the last year 2009. She has had 2 all clears, but still has to get P.E.T scans till 5 years clean. We are praying for this. This is a way I feel I can help. I felt so helpless as she went through all the chemo and radiation treatments. I watched her fight for her life and become so strong and do things that is not to her liking but had to be done. That was her attitude, "I have to do this, to live." With the help of our Lord, she became a stronger person. She had loss my dad to a heart attack and then to discover she has Breast Cancer.....
So I will be donating a couple of stitched items. One for her, and another one for all the others that are fighting. I have pulled out all the stitching books, leaflets, and charts to look for those special Stitching I want to do. Hope to see what others are stitching.

Finally finished! yay!!

After sewing this piece two times with stuffing and not liking it. I decided to make it with cardbord in the middle

"Angel of Tulips" by The Goode Huswife OOP
Fibers unknown, from my stash. I changed the thread colors a little to show better with the fabric.
I sure hope this ornament is worthy.
Lets see what everyone is stitching, I hope this piece inspires you to get going on your ornament.

Cathey

Would be okay for me to do a Hardanger piece of my own design? As I still haven't found the right thing to do, or a Needlecase?

My Choice

I think that I am going to pick the M Designs Hope Tree Ornament. I want to do it in pink, on some sort of pink sparkly fabric.
